Post Production Notes

At the conclusion of your review of the "1st cut" of your movie project, all the elements should be in place for the final creation of your project.

1, Your archives of selected photos, slides, video, DVD, 8mm and 16mm films (and anything else).

2. A plan and schedule for filmed interviews (if desired).

3. A plan and schedule for additional photography (if desired).

4. A plan for voice overs (if desired).

5. Researched documentary clips to intercut and enhance your family history.

6. Music selections.

Now is the perfect time to select a title.
Mine was entitled A Family Album. (Not exactly inspired. I’m sure you can do better than that.)

At this point, with all your information approvals, thoughts and ideas in hand, I will make the “final cut”.

This could take up to three months.

As I edit, I will add digital sound effects where needed to enhance your silent home movies.

During this process I will consult with you on any additional notions that come to mind as I cut the material so that the “final cut” is your final version.

As a filmmaker it is my primary job to satisfy my audience – and you and your family are my audience.

As a producer, you should have established enough faith in my talents to let me do the best possible film for you.

Your DVD project is a collaborative experience, but like a portrait painter, once the final cut is made only minor changes can be made.
However, our whole preproduction and production phase will ensure that you will be more than pleased with the results.

Delivery

When completed I would like to screen the final version of your DVD family portrait for you at my facility.
I can then makes notes for any minor corrections or changes.

Beyond these minor changes, if additional editing is desired, an added weekly fee is required. See Pricing.
I will then deliver one DVD Master and one DVD Copy.
Both will have a custom designed cover and label. The DVD’s will also have a custom menu with a play button and comprehensive scene selections.

The DVD Master of your DVD family portrait should be stored safely as you would film negatives for making extra copies on your own.

If you want me to make additional copies of your DVD family portrait there will be a charge of $25.00 Canadian dollars each.

Finally

Your DVD family portrait should be a mutually enjoyable experience.
It is a trip down memory lane that will produce a film that your family will enjoy viewing for years to come.
